The end of war and Sri Lanka’s future: Videos from Vikalpa in Sinhala and English

Vikalpa, the sister site of Groundviews with citizen journalism in Sinhala, produced this mini-documentary on Jaffna a year after the war ended. Vikalpa also produced a series of interviews in Tamil, Sinhala and English on the end of war, that will be progressively made available on its YouTube channel, embedded below.

Please leave your comments on Vikalpa’s post යුද්ධය අවසන් – ලංකාවේ අනාගතය (The war is over: Sri Lanka’s future).

  1. Having literally gone through every video Vikalpa have produced for my own research I can quite simply say that Vikalpa is an exemplary source for truth in a country where there are innumerable shades of grey.

These min-docs are remarkable for their consistency in quality and will redoubtably become an increasingly valuable resource as they have captured snapshots covering a period of years that will echo for a long while coming.

  2. I hope Vikalpa is reached by as many Sinhalese as possible.

It’ll be really good if it’s translated into Tamil.

I’d like to have an English version of the interviews too.

Heaps of thanks to Sanjana & Co for the project of Groundviews et al.
