When NGOs arranged the meeting of Tamils and Sinhalese afterCFA was announced in Feb 2002, Sinhalese found out that their media did not report the damage the state armed forces were doing in the North.

Not only about the plight of Tamil journalists but also about ordinary Tamils!
Engish dailies in Colombo didn’t report about the protest by Sinhalese in front of Opposition Leader’s office/residence. But they reported Sumanthiran’s interview on that protest.
English dailies in Colombo don’t report the building of Buddha statues/viharas by Buddhist monks and the army – they’re going on right now.
They don’t report what the army does to the Tamils in the North:
