From the end of war till today there has been no truth, no justice and no reparations(eben UN entities and ICRC were partially obstructed from helping the victims).

Increasing militarisation and refusal to return 6,000 acres of Jaffna HSZ is said to be against ”revival of LTTE”

(= guarantee of non-recurrence) Furthermore the President’s token return of a few pieces of land in a ceremony on 23 March is not recognised by the armed forces in the North.

NO truth + NO justice + NO reparations + ”guarantee of non-recurrence” by *very high militarisation

= continuing oppression

One tweet about this article says:
”Breaking from a history of impunity means ending a history of breaking promises”

Only this way there is life for the politicians to earn their living for ever and ever! “People” don’t matter!

Sri Lanka has a dismal track record when it comes to delivering on promises. Will this time be different ? I hope so.
