I am not against giving the children of Military personnel better treatment but the MR regime took it too far.
The military can own businesses but they have to be different from the Military and they should NOT employ soldiers in active duty and they should engage in fair competition. However military owned businesses are known for their higher chances of being corrupt

The three services were encouraged to enter vegetable, grocery and eateries business, hospitality industry and tourism. This was based on the Egyptian model. The ejection of the Mews Street residents was to add facilities to the school for children of army personnel. The plight of the displaced was never addressed. The new government has to reconsider the fundamental question: Should the children of armed services personnel get special treatment? Do we need such a huge army?
