The observation by Rev Bishop reflect many concerns of the Tamil people. I cannot imagine reconciliation starting without a political solution. Last 60 years of lessons teaches us that a political solution is possible only if the current structure of the state is restructured to permit autonomy to the Tamils. It is important for serious discussions on restructuring take place soon. It has to be a structure where a majority of one community can not change the constitution at the will of the majority community like what it did in 1972. In the Sri Lanka situation, where 70% are of one ethnic community, One person One Vote has not and is not working.
