What ????
In 2009 the UNP got 14 seats with 25% vote in the south PC, in 2014 it was still 25% with 14 seats in both counts.
So what did Sajith really do ? Did he campaign in the South (I am not sure) ? If he did, he has nothing to show for it ! The roughly 10% vote the UPFA lost between 2009-2014 was NOT picked up by the UNP !!

I suspect that Harim might have fallen victim to the Sajith friendly media that portrays him as the messiah to the UNP (and the country). All I see is, he goes around giving plastic chairs here and there worth about 50,000 (see his FB page, by the way does anyone know who gives the money for these donations? ).

He is often portrayed as acceptable to the Sinhala (Buddhist) south (with Ranil being unacceptable) and needed to win elections, but if this great Buddhist son cannot improve the performance of the UNP (if as you say he campaigned in the south) in 2014 (in the deep south) given the unpopularity of the regime (compared to 2009, war victory and such). I don’t know what he can do…..

I am still to see a valid reason given by anyone why Sajith needs to be deputy leader, what has he achieved for the party? I am no Ranil supporter and think someone else should take over. To me he is a spoilt child who has visions of grandeur and entitlement and like a spoilt child throws all his toys out of the cot when he does not get his way !
