Verses in the Qur’an need to be interpreted based on the context they were revealed. Battles can only be started by a Muslim government leader, if Muslims are not allowed to practice their normal religious duties without fear in a some other place. They cannot be started by any Tom, Dick and Harry.

The verses revealed during battle periods do not apply during peace times. They definitely do note apply in Sri Lanka, where peaceful coexistence has been the norm for Muslims for centuries.

Criticism of one does not imply the praise of the other !

Similarly, criticism of the government does not make one a LTTE terrorist or a UNP voter !

Are you not aware there are good and bad people in all the world and good and bad Sinhala Budhistd in Sri Lanka. If the Muslims in Arab countries or elsewhere are doing something wrong or creating anxiety to others what do you think Sri Lankan Muslims can do about it. Even if some Sri Lankan Muslims are creating you anxiety what can other Muslims do about it. Does that entitle the Budhists to murder and commit mayhem on the innocent Muslims.

Is you so much mentally deraigned to attack your cat at home because another cat on the road bit you.

Just because there a re no Budhist temples in Saudi Arabia. Do you want to destroy all the Muslim places of worship in Sri Lanka.

The problem is that Budhist monks have not attained any level of civilized life and they are. Now becoming Budhist terrorist like thalaiban or al kneed a.

Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them”

The Quran contains at least 109 verses that call Muslims to war with nonbelievers for the sake of Islamic rule. Some are quite graphic, with commands to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be hiding. Muslims who do not join the fight are called ‘hypocrites’ and warned that Allah will send them to Hell if they do not join the slaughter.

Unlike nearly all of the Old Testament verses of violence, the verses of violence in the Quran are mostly open-ended, meaning that they are not restrained by the historical context of the surrounding text. They are part of the eternal, unchanging word of Allah, and just as relevant or subjective as anything else in the Quran.

The context of violent passages is more ambiguous than might be expected of a perfect book from a loving God, however this can work both ways. Most of today’s Muslims exercise a personal choice to interpret their holy book’s call to arms according to their own moral preconceptions about justifiable violence. Apologists cater to their preferences with tenuous arguments that gloss over historical fact and generally do not stand up to scrutiny. Still, it is important to note that the problem is not bad people, but bad ideology.

I wish the Buddhists focussed on those than “dan salas”.
