Balkanisation will be the inevitable outcome of mixing up the Sri Lankan state (and what it could become in a future more positive avatar that recognises and protects the Tamil nation on the island) and the war criminals currently leading it. DJ defends Rajapakse because he is the State – but one is indefensible. The rajapaksas are going to jail the only question is will the sinhala nationalists (including DJ) hand them over quietly or not. At present it seems not.
