Gini Appu, I totally agree with you about the brutality of the state and the need for accountability. But I also think that reconciliation must follow. This is what we learn from the various Truth Commissions around the globe. (Dr. Nesiah’s response)

The state has become increasingly efficient at dealing with the opposition, regardless of ethnicity. The only people who don’t learn from the past are those who apply filters to the past. Accountability, not reconciliation, is what Sr Lanka needs.
