This provided shade and comfort for the people who rent this store. The landlord claimed that the tree shed too many leaves and narrowed the drive alongside, despite the fact that huge lorries could easily pass down that side lane.

Your contribution in this site with valuable articals of exposing the value of preserving and loving the environment is enormous , One day , when we had to pay for our breath and fight for the water that we would realise the value of people like Ranil . What sad is the authorities are not paying any attention to the warnings by environmentalists .
Obiviously authority is run by the politics , thus , the politicians are responsible for woe fullness in the future. I remember late minister of Mahavali that Gamini Dissanaya who came under education of Cambrige university , but he cut off massive amount of trees in his time in order to build the Mahavali project .so, there are people who done destructive things to our country and environment now and then . We as ordinary people what can do when those who called well educated people did not see the visible threat to the balance of nature instead of filling their pockets by cutting of huge valuable trees .

All big trees along the road shoulders are being cut with no reason. only reason as hypothesized as the value of timber that can be shared by some individuals. Big trees along the shoulder are a good protection to the road and also produce nice environmentally scenes. Some one person who may have been appointed to take decisions may have made this hazards. I have several times wrote this matter to authorities. It seems no one is interested to monitor this wrong process.

It is as if nobody really cares for them. Where are the tree lovers of this country? How much more will be lost before they wake up and stop the devastation? Sad to witness the fall of these majestic trees. While politicians must be rubbing their greedy pockets and the people’s hopelessness grows by the day.
