Dear Citizen,
The army misappropriated business property of a tamil businessman,in Kilinochi,who had migrated to Canada, and “sold” it to Cargills.
He returned to reclaim it to recommence business & complained to the local army commander.
The next day, he was axed to death by masked men in full view of villagers.
There are many “mullikulams” in the northeast.

What the Rajapakses are doing to the minorities is not “Rehabilitation”. It is plain and simple ROBBERY!!!

The government did not “rescue” people from LTTE. It is GENOCIDE and it is continuing to this minute all over where ever Tamils live!!!

With so much state lands available what is the need for the Govt to forcibly evict people from their homes, villages, places of worship? The Navy is there to protect people not harass them.

If this was done during the hostilities it was ill conceived and a violation of their human rights. Now that the war is over immediate steps must be taken to return the properties to the rightfull owners. Such occupation is not justifed and cannot be condoned.

Dear Groundviews,

Thank you for this article. However the google map insert needs correcting. Mullikulam is located here on the A32 road to Jaffna on the northern border of Mannar with Killinochi. It should properly be located near the southern border of Mannar district south of Silavathurai.
