Pollution concerns have become heightened with the emergence of new harbours in Hambantota and Kankesanthurai. Secretary to the Ministry of Environment, D.M.U.T. Basnayake, commenting on marine pollution in the backdrop of the recent mishap of a Greek oil ship in Panadura, Basnayake said he had sought the permission of the External Affairs Ministry to discuss the matter with the US Embassy.

We are talking of protecting the environment, to whom are we talking to?
We the minority of citizens numbering less than 5% are the only ones who are searching for solutions to salvage Sri Lanka from deceptions, divisions and atrocities.
WILL WE EVER SUCCEED?
No, definitely Not, No one will ever succeed in bringing sanity and stability to this prodigal Country.
The reasons are well embedded in the Sri Lankan society.
The Sri Lankan society the majority being 71% Sinhala Buddhist’s have abdicated their responsibility to the State of Sri Lanka to “rouge” Politicians.
They have abdicated their responsibility in focusing on Good Governance, Law and Order and true Democracy and freedom of speech etc.
The Politicians of today have high-jacked the Sinhala language and Buddhism to proliferate their personel agendas.
Making themselves rich and richer, stifling the already stifled Nation.
The Sinhala Buddhist Politicians have captured and captivated the Sinhala Buddhist’s population and ironically the prolific losers are the “Sinhala Buddhist’s themselves”
THERE IS NONE SO BLIND AS THE ONES WHO REFUSES TO SEE.
Amen.

Sri Lanka Government wastes billion of rupees by putting one Sri Lanka Army soldier behind every tree to spy on Tamil children conversations’ on the playgrounds.

Meanwhile, a huge environmental disaster bomb was ticking away for 3 years in the middle of the capital?!?!

A tiny fraction from the Defense Budget will deal with this long time ago..

What a bunch of idiots!!

Why on earth didn’t Rajapaksa govt make plans to tow this ship away from disaster instead of waiting for it to sink?

This is a deliberate environmental disaster and a serious environmental crime !!

In any other country they will go in for 20 years hard labor.

In Sri Lanka they might even get promoted.. 🙁

No body cared then. What a sad news.

Hence it is not a surprise that our coastal waters are polluted.

However we seem to be more polluted than our giant industrialised neighbour. As the author states this could be due to Ships dumping their waste in our waters.
