A further comment on you getting your facts wrong. Do not mix Arabs (sheik) with Indians (Sikh).

On another note on this July “83 issue. Whilst it is quite appropriate to shamefully commemorate that event, I would personally never be satisfied until a significant proportion of the perpetrators and brought to justice. There will be no peace until that and a number of other race-crimes are resolved.

Sri Lankans are cursed with the fact of race-crimes, until they choose to ease that burden by acknowledgement across the board, apology and reparation (going beyond bringing perpetrators to justice).

Kamma, the Universal Law will inexorably make its presence felt. You cannot escape it.

Tamils need to move on from it. Let it be the burden of the “Sinhalas”. Instead you need to continue to rebuild your lives and seek peace within. Keep in mind that the destruction of the LTTE with their abominable crimes (often with your witting and unwitting support, which were also race crimes) has been a blessing in disguise for you to have that inner peace. Let the racist-Tamils suffer instead with their ongoing unquenchable thirst fro revenge. You, the moderate Tamils should simply divorce yourself from the racists on both banks, and get on with being human.

All my love and condolences at this time of grieving.

Asoka,

Your comment is [edited out] totally ignorant of the history of Sinhala violence on Tamils. It started about twenty years before the LTTE came into being, in 1958 – the first anti Tamil riots.

Get your facts right before commenting or just don’t comment as it exposes your ignorance.

Simple answer is due to terrorists oriented ideas. What happened in India 1984, after gun downed Indira Gandhi, uncounted innocent sheiks massacred. Then year 2002 Bombay riot, thousands of innocent Muslims massacred. These are good lessons for the future generation to avoid terrorists and seperatist oriented ideas.

Was there any progress on LLRC reecommendations? Nothing. Was devoltion done? No. The land of IDP’s were grabbed by GOSL.

UPR must punish SL for any lies put in the report and signed by the president and dishonouring the UNHRC.

This would help unite the country and all its people against such evil schemes.
