We live today in a world where information is freely available and people have access to a variety of different mediums. In this context if the people who are privy to these corrupt acts continue to remain silent and more pertinently the opposition whose primary duty is to ensure good governance by those who govern, do nothing the status quo will remain. It is why in many forums i have mentioned that as much as the elected government would make every endeavour to hold on to power the opposition’s endeavour should be ensure that the government is kept under check. If the opposition is not capable of performing their function while in the opposition one dreads to think what they would do if they secure power.

When you watch CSN you can observe that several blue chip companies are more than forthcoming to sponsor and advertise. For us in Sri Lanka this has become the norm and we prefer to keep silent at whatever price.

How come science-writers like Nalaka Gunawardene do not come up with such articles?
