Another bit of eye wash by the Rajapaksa regime. I was listening to Hudson Samarasinghe on SLBC radio this morning trying to blame the shooting of Anthony Fernando on international conspirators and NGOs. If Sri Lanka wins the match against Australia in Sydney tomorrow, everything will be forgotten. This land of “Kiribath eaters” will never learn. It will be business as usual in a few weeks time.

Police spokesman Ajith Rohana said police used tear gas to disperse an “unlawful mob” but refused to comment on whether police fired guns at the protesters.
Thousands of fishermen were walking in a protest march near the fishing town of Chilaw and clashed with police, who later opened fire at them, said local journalist Jude Samantha who was at the scene in the town 70 kilometers (43 miles) north of the capital, Colombo.”

Not too long ago a lady Magistrate ordered that no one should even speak at a funeral of a youth who got killed while protesting against the proposed pension act for the private sector. This would have save the face of the govt but is a clear violation of articles in the constitution. Why didnt any body calleged this decision as this would have prevented similar applictions as done after that.
