Wooooo! Never knew about the Vikapla. I must be reading it from now on! Thanking you for showing it to me. I don’t think I am going to be writing anything there. Trying to be using Sinhalese font is the pain [Edited out]. But I will be reading it regularly now!

Thank you very much and may the Triple Germs [Edited out] bless you!

“The government is even planning to be having translatins of all the articles and comments on the Groundviews in the Sinhalese. Maybe even having separate minister for that.” Thank you The Mervyn Silva. We would welcome that move very much. In the meanwhile, have you read Vikalpa?

Yes Sir! A loose traslation would be:

Vanquished the enemy
Raised the voices(of the people)
Spread (his) name
Flown the flag (high)
(Behold)The proud Lion!

This is meaning that the king is like the lion beating the enemies and making the noise like the battle cry, spreading his fame all over the place. I am sure you are knowing who this king is!

By the wayside, why you are wanting translation? Why you are not learning Sinhalese? Everything is now in the Sinhalese. We are singing the national anthem in the Sinhalese and speaking and reading only Sinhaelse now. Very soon we will be crying also in the Sinhalese only. The government is even planning to be having translatins of all the articles and comments on the Groundviews in the Sinhalese. Maybe even having separate minister for that. Very very soon Sinhalese will be intrenational language. Wait, it already is because to most of us Sri Lanka is the world and there is nothing beyond the Sri Lanka.

God save our gracious Maha Raja,
Long live our noble Maha Raja,
God save the Maha Raja!
Send him victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us,
God save the Maha Raja!

O Maha Raja arise,
Scatter our enemies,
And make them fall with more 9/11s!
Confound their International conspiracies,
Confuse their politics,
On you our hopes we fix,
God save the Maha Raja!

Not in this land alone,
Be Maha Raja’s mercies known,
From shore to shore!
Maha Raja make the nations see,
That brothers should rule,
And only one family reign,
The wide world ov’er

From every latent foe,
From the Diaspora to Sir Roth Funnyshaker,
God save the Maha Raja!
O’er his arm extend,
For Rajapakistan’s sake defend,
Our father, king, uncle, aunty and friend,
God save the Maha Raja!

Thy choicest real estate in the land,
On him be pleased to bestow,
Long may he reign! And after him his son!
May he defend our laws,
And ever give us cause,
To sing with heart and voice,
God save the Maha Raja!
