They are the architects of divisions. Humans unite as humans through understanding without greed for power. Divsion is a creative devise of the corruptives. All humans have one colour and that is red, because everybody’s blood is red. Divsions of colour, caste and and all discriminatory factors are dissmissable when human suffering is felt. So lets all as Sri Lankans unite as one nation as human beings without thinking ourselves as Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims, Burghers and so forth. Justice and peace will prevail only if we unite as humans and not as dividees.

I caught a bit of your optimism and hope and felt refreshed.

A job well done. If Sri Lanka Unites is behind this kind if thinking all those at SLU deserve a pat on their backs

A few more persons like you and those in SLU Sri Lanka can reconcile in truth!! Pessimism is an act of cowardice and self pity. Optimism that has feet to it will strive for the result that “seems” elusive and illusive. May the initiative of SLU prosper!!

(throw away the hate-mongering textbooks).

Elijah, there must be many readers whose eyes are watery now.

I was at meeting recently where Prashan spoke of SLU initiatives that are being carried out on reconciliation. It was very well received by the audience, though, soon after he left some people questioned his “optimism”. They may have thread the same line your father has. But, there is always hope and your absolutely right in saying reconciliation starts with all of us. We must look to the future and take personal responsibility. To quote the words of Mahathma Ghandi “be the change you want to see in the world”
