I think it means ‘no problem, don’t worry’ as in: Sorry, I couldn’t talk. Was at a meeting. The reply being: Deaf men.

The meaning of the word ‘JILMART’ is…Dishonest or unscrupulous; fraudulent. etc. I first heard this word many years ago in the 80s in a sinhala song sung by Freddy Silva. (No relation of Mervin)

The song went something like this.
‘Jilmart pappa la dan lankaaway wedi wella,
Jilmart daalaa dharma doothay naamay kettha kalaa.’

…which when translated means, there are too many dishonest or unscrupulous; fraudulent people in the country who have given a bad name to the country by all the ‘Jilmart’s’ they have done.
