Those who promise the moon and the voters will soon experience the ‘fall out’ of living on thin air.

The prognosis is one of making tough choices when in the saddle. It’s going to be a rough economic ride indeed. For those in the poverty trap it is going to be far more difficult.

On top of the economic problems will be harnessing the donor community for aid or investments against the background of the human rights record. Quite a tough job for any incoming government.

Most of the the present lot – both politicians and bureaucrats are of the same ilk.

You must be some other world. Of course, politicians will not only promise the moon, they can even tell you that they can make us fly. In the chess game of politics, truth always will be first casualty but these are the stories gullible people (and quite frankly they are in the majority) want to hear, not the truth. In a land that embraced the “Enlightened One’s” faith, even his teachings have been twisted as long as it is good to the ears. There is not going to be another Mahatma my friend, what more in politics.
