Your use of inflated numbers spoiled what otherwise could have been an informative article. After the first two paragraphs it has degenerated into an excuse for propaganda.

Do you not keep yourself current regarding the IDP’s ?
Your figure for IDP’s is 110,000+ higher than the actual figure. Why did you inflate it?

How did you arrive at such logic? Surely you don’t think that those who ended the terrorist scourge would release these two gentlemen on bail without a very good reason. Unless you are very close to the defense establishment and privy to its decision making you would not know the real reason. How do you know what DM and GM gave in return for being allowed bail? KP was caught wasn’t he? How do you know that DM and GM were not instrumental in KP’s arrest?

None of us are really aware why they were released on bail. All we do is speculate and that’s what you have done too.

Sweeping generalizations does not make the actual terrorists hiding amongst the IDP’s vanish into thin air. These terrorists exist and they have killed civilians indiscriminately before and will kill again given half a chance. I do not think any responsible govt will give that half a chance to known killers. I don’t know why you insist that they do not exist.

Are you aware that 2000 Kg of C4 explosives and parts of artillery guns and mortars were found just a few days ago? If the govt took advice from those who have similar views such as yours and released the terrorists in hiding, prematurely do you believe that these explosives would not have fallen into terrorist hands? Any guarantees for the safety of the 20,000,000 population (Tamils / Muslims / Sinhalese / and others / children / women and men included)?

You have also touched on the ACF issue. From what I can remember the ACF ran away from an inquiry into the incident. Why did you not mention it? Is it because that will not fit your intended purpose?

I would recommend reading and emulating Dr P. Jeganathan’s blog. He is a Tamil writer that commands respect from anyone irrespective of ethnicity through his balanced writing

I personaly do agree 100% for this letter. Very recently on “Al Jazeera”, Mahinda said that in 1987-1989 era he called the JVP murderers as freedom fighters! And he justified George Bush’s most infamous statement, “either you are with us or you are against us”! I do feel sympathy for those who may loose their daily bread if the GSP+ concession was not to be granted for us, but then again it is the responsible of the voters to send home the most corrupted, murderous and inhumane government home and appoint a democratic and just government, if they want to prosper. That is not the responsible of EU.
