The media is being used to brainwash the average Sinhalese, and justify the war. Military activity has become the main element around which everything else revolves. We simply can’t go ahead this way, and it is high time everybody understood that this war is simply not winnable through the present government’s policy…
Well written Prasanna, excellent food for thought!

There are many true Buddists who are doing what they can to bring about an understanding among people of different ethnics. It will take sometime for them to succeed BECAUSE the electronic media and the print media are NOT bothered for peace. They need only news for the benefit of their media to prosper. If you want to know further about these monks and work for PEACE you may email if you are sincerely interested in creating a peaceful climate in this country..

Ifpeace is to be made, it is upto committed individuals willing to make the commitment to see it through.

Hope lives on because some of feel anger at the way things are and a few have the courage to work to change it.

We will have to movetowardssolution rather thancontinue toexpress or analyze the problem. An emphasis on personal responsibility moves the discussino away from finger pointing or naming enemies and towards constructive common action
