You and I know that if we did down into our hearts it is no secret that this government is not interested in any negotiated settlement. They way the paraded the thoppigala ‘victory’ is sound evidence that they are executing this war for political gain, knowing full well that scoring ‘victories’ on the battlefield is the only way to secure the administration’s position in the face of rising cost of living and corruption charges.
If they let 800 LTTE’s get away, it was simply so that they can say they have captured the east…not because it was a part of their war ‘strategy’ of weakening the LTTE and forcing them into the negotiating table.

What have you got to say about the abductions and killings of tamils and muslins, anti-democratic political behavior, acts of human rights violations ect. perpetrated by the Government of Sri Lanka?
Is this or is this not “State sponsored terrorism?”

ps. the only thing the GOSL is not guilty of is, child recruitment.

Blurting out “whats all the fuss about Thoppigala?” only does him more harm than good.

I support him because he is the least worst out of the lot but he must realise that absurd and ridiculous statements such as these makes him look more of a joke than a potential leader…

As for his latest joke regarding Thoppigala, may be the Army provided an exit route to the fleeing LTTE [if they did], with a long run vision- hoping that they can meet again in Mulativu, in the big battle, for the last dance………….. As the writer says, it may also add plus pointes to the negotiations. It also shows the humane side of the Army, it’ll help them to get away from the widely pasted Butcher face. Moreover, this act will build confidence of the Tamils on the GOSL.
