Mangala is a politician who has a head over his shoulders and also a heart that governs his consciousness.

Now what he needs is to use his legs to get to the people.

He could get help from the Sahodrayas, blayer who will be reiterating soon or even from Prabha but he should remain Mangala ,he has the capability to mediate between binaries .

Mangala needs to sit and patiently work out with the people a programme for the future with the people of this country.

Instead of mahinda chinthanaya we don’t need Mangala chinthanaya ,we need a forum and programme for the peoples chinthanaya .

As for the past and future Minister of National Heritage, the Hon. Falstaff (the report in the Daily News, is as to be expected, far better in comic value than any photo the Daily Mirror can produce), he resigned from the job, and is now resigned to the job. Forgive the terrible pun.

Why is it that on Groundviews people have so much of faith in the leadership of Ranil to take this country out of the mess it is in. Have we forgotten that it was his bungling of the peace process that gave rise to circumstances that at the end ousted him from power? This is a man, moody and temperamental, who is possibly a good statesperson, but a godawful politician.

And for Java J’s point about Anura – the less said about this chap the better. There’s a glorious photo in the Daily Mirror today of him meeting Mahinda. I would have laughed, but instead used it to hasten my morning ablutions.

The real tragedy however, is that the nature of our political animals is such that ‘we the people’ haven’t a clue about who will switch when and at what point the promises and intentions will take a diametrically opposite direction. The pathetic creature that is Anura B is a case in point.
