Mr President,
You disgust me, as deeply as you impressed me in the way you handled the military effort to crush the terrorists.

How can you assume you gave anyone a gift, when in fact you were doing your job. And thank you for doing it well... with such resolve.
You doing a great job at standing up to international meddling -in the effort of the military to crush the terrorists - does not give you the right to abuse your position of leadership/power in the extreme ways that you have resorted to.
what is this? sickening levels of nepotism, cronyism, and blatant manipulation of public and private institutions. You had a golden opportunity to right the enormous wrongs... corruption... that our people have been subjected to ever since independence - and beyond. Instead, you've taken on the persona of all the negatives so flagrantly imposed on us, by successive governmants - both, the UNP and the SLFP (in whatever guise.) How dare you? Or is your justification - "every leader before me did it... so why don't I help my kith and kin and every stooge...while the goodwill lasts" - how terrible that is. You had a golden opportunity to turn the tide in the corrupt way politics are conducted in our beautiful country... you could have gone down in history as not merely the leader who "left the military to do their job"... but as a morally sound leader who ushered in an era free of political corruption... instead, you've exposed yourself to be as corrupt as the rest.
May you summon the power of goodness to change. If not, just leave. Please...our Chief Public Servant, Mahinda Rajapakse.... Change, Or leave.

Where is the freedom, independence and regulatory function of TRC if it gave "instructions" to the mobile phone companies to send out unsolicited messages at this crucial election time? It is a contradiction in terms.

Will this same free facility be extended to the other candidates?,as pointed out by some commentators. Explains somewhat why so many pubilcly owned businesses are incurring heavy losses.
