A concerned Sri LankanTue, 01 Dec 2009 20:36:25 +0000http://www.groundviews.org/?p=2105#comment-11503The Presidential Election has just begun and already goons allied to the incumbant President has started to attack the JVP supporters.The 'Island'editorial states that predecessors of the newly appointed IGP had miserably failed to maintain law and order but the Island Editor has not got the news that the former IGP has been rewarded by the Boss of Corruption President Mahinda Rajapakse with an appointment to a higher post as the Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Defence for promoting thuggery and corruption. What can Sri Lankans expect from a President who does not care a hoot for appointing Independent Commissions under the 17th Amendment to the Sri Lanka Constitution. This I believe mirrors the sentiments, albeit to a much lower degree, of the Tamils, and Jaffna residents in particular, in the years that preceded the formation of LTTE. Did you ever wonder what choices they had? I suppose, what goes around, comes around.
