Sounds too stupid to be true. My partner is a scientist, and she tells me that it’s not difficult to ascertain if these mosquitos as genetically modified or not. If they are, the pharmaceutical company would be the first suspects and this would raise such a global outrage. Would this company take such a chance?

A few million dollars is pocket change for a company of this size. The mosquitos (if the subjective assessment of them being larger is true) have probably evolved naturally.

What I find interesting is the degree of evidence considered adequate by NGOs to come up with this conclusion. Is this not similar to other accusations against the government by political NGOs?

If there is any truth in these allegations at all it is totally outrageous. And it is indicative of the kind of attitude these mutinationals have – they look upon poor countries as their slaves, their cash cow.

Why do we think this is just an act of reprisal by a multinational company whose contract was canceled? This is a time when Sri Lanka is under siege. So I won’t rule out this being a sinister conspiracy by CIA, MI5, Vatican, World Bank and IMF (throw in other suspicious acronyms if you like!) to destabilise Sri Lanka just when she has beaten the world’s most ruthless guerrilla group! The government must mobilise the full force of the law, armed forces, white vans and any other means against these mosquitoes. Too much is at stake to win the war against tigers and lose the battle to the mosquitoes!

Introduced mosquitoes attacking the indigenious people. Imported fighters helping to kill indigenous Tamil civilians at the invitation of the Government!! somebody must be making money on both imports!! Arms deal and Mosquitoes must be bringing money to some influential people. Who cares about the suffering of ordinary man.
