After cessation is granted, the North will be confronted with a mass exodus of Tamils from the hostile South, which will restrict trade with the North. There will be no military cooperative shops handing out free food rations and A9 would be closed for good. The Tamils will be left to their own devices. If the LTTE and the Tamils want freedom, they must start figuring out how to fend for themselves without the help of the Sri Lankan government and the Sinhalese people.
