The news article above seems to suggest that the citizen journalist report here is accurate. Quoting Jaffna Commander Major General G. A. Chandrasiri, the report states that &quot;Mobile phone service in Jaffna had been restored and should be used without hindering security of the region. Further facilities of CDMA technology will soon be provided to the public of Jaffna&quot; and earlier states that &quot;The government had removed the ban on the use of mobile phones by civilians in the Peninsula from January 1 this year.&quot;</description>
